The Avenue of Stars Hong Kong, modeling the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is situated along the Victoria Harbor waterfront in Tsim Sha Tsui,
Hong Kong. It honors celebrities of the Hong Kong film industry and has become Hong Kong's latest attraction celebrating its
reputation as the Hollywood of the East.
In 1982, the New World Group built a promenade along the waterfront around the New World Center in Tsim Sha Tsui East,
Kowloon. In 2003, the Group announced it would spend HK$40 million to build the Avenue of Stars, a project supported by all the
relevant big-shot tourism and film officials and agencies. Seventy-three distinguished film stars were carefully chosen and elected as
inductees to be honored by the Hong Kong Film Awards Association and the readers of City Entertainment.

Tablets of these 73 movie celebrities were inscribed and laid onto the surface of the avenue with 30 of them having the celebrities
very own handprints. At the entrance to the avenue stands a bronze statue of Oscar Reward and a small stage for performances and
activities. Along the avenue, there are pantry shops and souvenir shops, some movie-relative sculptures, and seats for resting or
chatting. In addition, some "Star Ambassadors" come and go on roller skates and are ready to provide help.
Taking a daytime stroll along the Avenue of Stars is a good way to leisurely take in some of famous sights and sounds of Hong Kong
's Victoria Harbor as well as the architecture of Hong Kong Island. At night, you will be able to enjoy the breathtaking multimedia
performance - "Symphony of Lights" from the best vantage point.
