Guilin Shopping

Not being a fashion metropolis, Guilin doesn 't offer a lot of high end trendy brand names. Instead, it is a place to enjoy some leisurely shopping for inexpensive souvenirs and decorations. A wide array of beautifully crafted local products fill the stores, including landscape paintings, pottery, porcelain, wood and bamboo sculptures, hand-painted folding screens, boxwood combs, bamboo fine-tooth combs, and embroidered balls.

Guilin is particularly well known for its sweet-scented osmanthus products, including osmanthus tea and wine. While in town, you definitely have to try the "Three Treasures of Guilin": sanhua alcohol, fermented bean curd, and chili sauce.

West Street
Situated in the heart of Yangshuo,West Street is an ancient street with a history of more than 1,400 years. It now attracts visitors for its unique mix of cultures. West Street has seen countless foreigners from all over the word and is reputed as "Foreigner 's Street". Visiting West Street, you will be overwhelmed by an array of Chinese traditional folk and amazing international elements. The 2,000-meter-long street has various bars, cafes, restaurants, hotels, art crafts and souvenirs stores, foreign language clubs and even Kufu schools. You may find some exquisite bars and cafes run by foreigners, decorated with bamboo rafts, fish baskets and wax-painted tablecloths. This street is an ideal place to eat, shop, entertain, study or just take a break. It is calm and peaceful in the morning, while trendy and modern in the evening.

Fuli Town: Town of Painted Fans Town
Painted Fans Town, the hometown of painted fans in China. The fans are made of paper or silk with bamboo frames. Paintings on fans are Guilin landscape, Yangshuo sightseeing, birds, and animals etc, which are created by local peasant drawers. This folk art is colorful and will be a great souvenir to take home.
