The Oriental Pearl Tower is a TV tower in Shanghai. The 468 m (1,535 feet) high tower stands by the east bank of Huangpu River, opposite to the Bund. Currently the tower is ranked as the 5th tallest tower in the world, and the 3rd tallest tower in Asia.
Far more attractive than its height is the tower's unique architectural design that makes the Oriental Pearl TV Tower the landmark of Shanghai Pudong New Area and a big magnet for tourists.
The tower boasts three 360-degree sightseeing floors, namely the 350-meter-high Capsule Floor, 263-meter-high Main Sightseeing Floor and the 259-meter-high Hanging Sightseeing Floor. The most welcomed goes to the last one. With transparent glass, the Floor gives all the visitors the realest bird's eye view of the Shanghai cityscape.
To fully have fun at Oriental Pearl Tower, visitors are recommended to tour Shanghai Municipal History Museum (Old Shanghai Wax Museum), which lies in the basement of the Tower, and then have a panoramic view of Shanghai city at the Hanging Sightseeing Floor. As regards dining, to have a sumptuous and sightseeing dinner at the 267-meter-high Revolving Restaurant, the highest in Asia.
