Spring and winter are good seasons to visit Chongqing and the rainy autumn is best avoided. April is the best month as temperatures are still bearable and rainfall not especially heavy. If you wait until the following month or later still into the summer season, you really do need to be prepared for the heat and for the constant threat of precipitation.
