Today's Activities | You’ll start your Beijing tour with Tian'anmen Square, the largest square in the world and all the lofty jade stone bridges, moats, monuments, ornamental columns, stone lions, etc. Later walk northward and you reach Forbidden City. The largest and best-preserved imperial palace in China vividly showcases a whole set of the royal life. You’ll be shown around several main halls like the Hall of Supreme Harmony. Have a good view of the emperor’s chair, sculpture of mythical beasts, eave decoration and the like, you can touch some daily routine of the ancient Chinese emperors, courtiers and princesses. After breakfast at hotel, you will have an excursion to the Badaling Great Wall. By roundtrip cable car you can feast on this vital section of the world famous China Great Wall. Badaling not only boasts a surprisingly long history of over 1400 year but sport a special structure of three watchtowers on end. Afterwards, you will visit the most famous tomb of Ming Tombs - Changling. The tomb is inhumed with the 3rd emperor of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) Zhu Di and his queen. Its tremendous scale and perfect degree of maintanence well fits the great achievement Emperor Zhu Di secured during his reign over China. Also you will visit the Sacred Road, which was originally built to lead to the Changling mausoleum. Alongside the Sacred Road are 18 pairs of marble figures lined up. These creatures include twelve pairs of animals such as lions, horses, elephants, camels, and other hulking beasts, and six pairs of human beings such as generals, and public officials. Today's Activities | In the morning drive to the biggest attractions in Chengdu - Panda Breeding and Research Center, which is home to giant pandas, red (or lesser) pandas, and other endangered species. In the nursery you will see the highly successful breeding program, among the bamboo groves and shady walkways, and view the pandas at rest or play. There is a panda museum where you can learn more habit about giant pandas and get close touch with them. Here a programme of taking photoes with a panda for your option. You can hold a lovely panda to take photoes. How exciting it is! (The admission for the programme is excluded.) Then we will turn to Wuhou Memorial Temple, which is built as a tribute to Zhuge Liang, the Martial Marquis of Shu during the Three Kingdoms Period. You may strool around the peaceful and attractive gardens, and visit several halls, including one dedicated to his memory and another to that of his emperor Liu Bei. Then you will learn more about China ancient culture. Explore local life at Kuai Zhai Lane. which is a local-featured street with ancient alleys. It fully represents the lifestyle of Chengdu - leisure, slow but modern. Today's Activities | After having breakfast at hotel, you will be transferred to airport for a fly to Lhasa. Upon your arrival at Lhasa, our Tibetan local guide and driver will pick you up at Gonggar Airport, then transfer you to downtown hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to adapt yourself to the high altitude of about 3,650 meters above sea level. | ||||||||||||||||
Remember that you should start taking anti-AMS medicines a week in advance before arrving in Tibet. When you arrived at the hotel, please be not so curious to walk much around the hotel, and all you need is a good rest in your room for necessary acclimatization, otherwise you may easily get mountain sickness. The rampart is 12 meters high, with the upper part of 15 meters width. You can stroll freely and leisurely on top, and see the city from above. Upon arrive in Dunhuang railway station, you'll be transferred to the downtown hotel for refresh. Afterward drive to visit the spectacular Mogao Grottos, the home to some of the most amazing ancient Buddhist cave art in existence and the glorious World Heritage. The millions of flying Apsaras all over the interior grottos will tell you how far the imagination of the ancient painters can go. Then go on to explore Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring, where you can take in an incredible view of the green oasis surrounded by an endless desert landscape. It's great fun to look at your reflection at the crystal clear crescent-shape spring and listen to the roaring sound of wind, which is echoed by the interesting mountain. You'll find that the ruins are made of mud walls including an outer wall, an inner wall and palace walls. The next visit is the Astana Graves, which served mainly as the cemetery of the descendents of Chinese settlers in Gaochang in the past. |

At an altitude of 3,600 meters, Karakul Lake is the highest lake of the Pamir plateau, near the junction of the Pamir, Tian Shan and Kunlun mountain ranges. Surrounded by mountains which remain snow-covered throughout the year, the three highest peaks visible from the lake are the Muztagh Ata (7,546 meters), Kongur Tagh (7,649 meters) and Kongur Tiube (7,530 meters). |

By the way, the on-passage mountainous scenery is quite awesome, just enjoy it. End the fantastic Heavenly Lake sightseeing and drive back to the downtown Urumqi. The cuisine of Silkroad reflects the region's many ethnic groups, and refers particularly to Uyghur cuisine. Signature ingredients include roast mutton, kebabs, roast fish and rice. Because of the Islamic population, the food is predominantly halal.

Xi'an features distinctive cuisines of China Northwest, such as various-shapes chinese dumplings and other wheaten food. At Muslim Quarter, where gathers lots of delicious local food, like Rou Jia Mo and shish kebabs, etc.
(1) Here we highly recommend Chinese Dumpling Dinner, which also named Jiaozi, typically consist of a ground meat and/or vegetable filling wrapped into a thinly rolled piece of dough, which is then sealed by pressing the edges together or by crimping.
