Xi'an features distinctive cuisines of China Northwest, such as various-shaped Chinese dumplings and other wheaten food. Muslim Quarter gathers lots of delicious local food like Rou Jia Mo and shish kebabs, etc..
(1) Here we highly recommend Chinese Dumpling Dinner, which also named "Jiaozi", typically consist of a ground meat and/or vegetable filling wrapped into a thinly rolled piece of dough, which is then sealed by pressing the edges together or by crimping. As a must-try for visitors, it serves with Tang dynasty show. And it belongs to an [add on] item in the tour.
(2) Friendship Restaurant at Terracotta Museum, is famous for the noodle-stretching performance. You can also enjoy the delicious local cuisine here, such as steamed cauliflower, pork and small bamboo shoots, bean curd with celery, etc.
(3) One of the best places to sample the dumpling is Defachang Restaurant. Here you can experience Xian's famous "Dumpling Banquet" where you get to feast on many different types of dumplings that come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors and flavors. For example there are tiny pearl dumplings, dumplings made from black rice and fruit-filled dumplings.
(4) Muslim quarter is a fascinating area where you can taste many authentic Islamic snacks, like beef or mutton Rou Jia Mo (Chinese Hamburger), northwestern style noodles, Yangrou Paomo and many other attractive snacks that will not make you disappointed. Guilin's tasty dishes are also well-known except its charming landscapes. Traditional cuisines include Duck Stewed with Ginkgo Seeds, Lipu Taro Pork, Stewed Clams and Chicken, Lohan Boiled Chicked, and Fried Chicken with Water Chestnut.
