- I have stayed at the Garden Hotel 6 times in the last four years. The staff has always been excellent and the public areas are very good. If you book the cheapest rate or are unlucky you get an older room with two very hard single beds. The newer rooms are very good. When booking I would ask if you are getting a refurnished room. Very good security. Good restaurants. The hotel is in a good location with near by shopping, restaurants, and banks. I would stay again.

- It has largest lobby in Asia, or so I'm told. Sadly the bedrooms are less impressive. Typical of Chinese hotels... Security is excellent... police are positioned every hundred yards or so in the streets around the hotel and between the car park and the lift lobby, I passed seven security guards. There was another on my floor, by the lift.
Breakfast is not bad, by Chinese standards. Ask for a table outside, by the artificial lake. Food is good but pricey. Their Italian restaurant offers the best value, by far-- and is surprisingly authentic. There are bars and restaurants aplenty in the area. But it is otherwise a pretty dull area. The business centre is busy and charges for computer time. But there are two free-to-use PCs in the bar. Great.. you can check your e-mail and drink TsingTao beer at the same time :-)

- Right during the middle of the Trade Fair resulting in most rooms being sold out except for the expensive ones as the Garden.. Rooms are very nice, I was in a suite, and completely equipped with all mod cons. The service is very good and if it matters, the English speaking staff are plentiful.
The pricing for me was a reflection of the lack of rooms during the Trade Fair, the largest event in Guangzhou as it relates to hotels room. Worth looking into but check the price first.

- This hotel is definitely an upper class hotel, beautiful reception area and lobby. Has to be one of Guangzhous best hotels. It takes about half an hour to get to the fair and 10 to 15 minutes to get to the shopping streets. The restaurants are excellent, though the breakfast could have been a little bit more to choose from.
It's always a cause of anger, when DSL access is charged separately and costly from the hotel. This should be free of charge at least for frequent guests.

- The location was very convenient for work which is why I chose it. The rooms were ok. A typical hotel room; reminded me of a Holiday Inn.
Unfortunately, the beds were hard. I nearly broke my tailbone sitting down. Hard beds don't normally bother me, but the first night took some getting used to. It had internet access, minibar, room service. The rooms were pretty quiet. The workout room and outdoor pool were nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I’d stay here again.
