Today's Activities | Upon your arrival at Lhasa, our Tibetan local guide and driver will pick you up at Gonggar Airport or Lhasa Newwu Train Station, then transfer you to downtown hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to adapt yourself to the high altitude of about 3,650 meters above sea level. | ||||||||||||||||
Travel Tips | Start taking anti-AMS medicines a week before your trip. When you arrived at the hotel, please be not so curious to walk much around the hotel, and all you need is a good rest in your room for necessary acclimatization, otherwise you may easily get mountain sickness. Today's Activities | It believes that this day must leave a lifetime memory for your whole life. In the morning, you will visit the splendid Potala Palace, which originated from 7th century and once homed to Dalai Lamas. The Jokhang Temple, we head to later, as the spiritual center of Tibet, will deeply impressed you by its magnificence and sincere pilgrims. Barkhor street, hugging the jokhang temple, is regarded as the crowded central Market in ancient section of Lhasa, and at where you can buy various Tibetan or other minorities’ souvenirs for your family and friends. | ||||||||||||||||

After having breakfast, we will drive to the west of Lhasa about 11 km for visiting the Drepung Monastery, and which is one of the 'Three Great Monasteries' and the largest one in Tibetan Buddhism. Later that day, the next visit is Sera Monastery, the second monastery in Tibet. Distinctively its famous debating activities are holding around 3-4pm regularly every working day that you should never miss. | ||||||||||||||||
Travel Tips | 1. It is a good idea to pack some food, snacks, and drinking water along your trip. 2. When you are in a monastery or a museum, please do not smoke, consume alcohol or make unnecessary noise; neither, do not touch, walk over or sit on any religious texts, objects or prayer flags. |

Today's Activities | After two days' visit of Tibetan human landscapes, today we will drive about 2 hours (120 km) to appreciate the beautiful natural views of the famous Sacred Lake of Tibet - Yamdrok Yumtso Lake. The surface of the lake seemly looks like a green jade, hence it was praised as the most beautiful lake all over the world. Later, we arrive at Gyantse (2 hrs, 140 km), and take a one hour visit to the local popular Pelkhor Chode Monastery and the precious Kumbum Stupa. At last, we drive straight to Shigatse (1.5 hr, 150km) and check in there. | ||||||||||||||||

Today's Activities | After breakfast, you will visit the most famous tourist spot of Shigatse - Tashilhunpo Monastery. It was founded by the First Dalai Lama in 1447, and expanded by the Fourth and successive Panchen Lamas. Later on the way back to Lhasa, we will take you to a local free bazaar, here you can know more about local culture, customs and life condition of tibetan people. Later, we will head to Tingri, which is a huddle of Tibetan homes that overlooks a sweeping plain bordered by the towering Himalayan peaks of Mt.Everest (8848m) and Cho Oyu (8153m). | ||||||||||||||||

Travel Tips | 1. The walk from Rongphu Monastery to EBC takes about two hours, or 15 minutes in a Land Cruiser. The route is obvious, past a glacial moraine and across a sandy plain. After staying for several days in Tibet, most of travellers are becoming adaptable to the high altitute, while if you feel any uncomfortable, just tell our guide instantly, and he would help you to overcome any difficulty.
