4 Days of Ancient Tea-Horse Road Tour in Lijiang

Upon arrival you will be welcomed by our guide at the Airport and then transfer to the hotel in Lijiang Old Town. Relax during the remainder of the afternoon and evening to explore Lijiang Old Town. If you have enough free time, recommend you to visit the Mu Mansion which is famed as Forbidden City of Naxi people. Then ascent Wangu Tower on Small Lion Hill enjoy vistas of breathtaking scenery over the rooftops of Lijiang and the great Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the distance. Tonight you will stay at the featured hotel in Lijiang.

After breakfast you will have a half-day tour to visit Lashihai Lake which has been approved as a plateau wetland nature reserve in Yunnan in 1998. You will experience the traditional, rural Naxi lifestyle in a beautiful and peaceful setting. You also will cruise around the lake, watching a variety of protected migratory bird species such as the black-necked crane, whooper swan and black stork. After paying a visit to Naxi Minority houses of local residents; you will pass through the virgin forest. Along the trip, you will enjoy the sightseeing including the fantastic waterfalls, Seven Immortals Lake, Thousand-year old Trees, etc.

After lunch, rent horse from local villagers and ride it along the Ancient Tea-Horse Road. The ancient Tea-Horse Road plays a similar role as the Silk Road does, and is a vital part of the international trade in the history (between China, India and Middle Asia). What's more, it was a road linking culturally Tibetans and other Chinese in the history, and promoting the spread of Buddhism. In late afternoon transfer back to Lijiang, and overnight at the hotel in Lijiang.

After breakfast, we will drive you to the spectacular Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which is the largest snow mountain in the Northern Hemisphere. You will first enjoy the beautiful landscape at the Baishui River (White Water River). It flows at the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The riverbed is made up of white marble and lime stones and the river looks white, hence the name of White River (Baishui).

Then proceed to Jade Water Village - a sacred palce of Dongba people. where you will visit a local Naxi family to get a close touch to the daily life of Naxi Minority.

Then visit the Jade Summit Lamasery, a famous Tibetan Temple with ancient forests clustering around . In its northern countyard you can enjoy the treasure of the temple - the giant Camellia Tree, which is more than 500 years old. Because its blossoming period lasts more than 100 days a year, and produces more than 20,000 flowers in 20 groups, it is renowned as "Ten-thousand-flower Camellia".

Afterwards catch a cable car to the summit of the Yak Meadow, one of 13 peaks of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The landscape rises and falls on the meadow. In spring and summer, you can find yaks with black and white skin wandering in grass and all kinds of flowers. In autumn and winter, you will wonder at the sharp contrast between the mild edge of the meadow and the peaks of the snow mountain. The view is unforgettable. Looking down at Ganhaizi and continuous mountains, you will find that the snow mountain is so close to you. Cool wind gently blows on your face. All the things here are so beautiful and peaceful.

At late afternoon you will enjoy the famous movie director Zhang Yimou's musical show "Impression Lijiang". Tonight you will stay at the hotel in Lijiang.
